Diploma in Business and Management Level 4
The ATHE Level 4 Diploma in Business and Management 2018 and the previous qualification from 2012 are both 60-credit qualifications. Qualifications regulated by Ofqual that are equivalent to the first year of a bachelor’s degree.
We updated our 2012 qualification to include grade boundaries as well as new qualification pathways, including our GenEd pathway. More information is available on this subject further down.
The ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Management 2018 is intended for students who want to develop the skills and knowledge required for positions in junior management. They have also been designed with progression in mind, allowing students to continue on to a variety of Bachelor’s degrees. Our GenEd pathway, when combined with the ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Business and Management (GenEd) and the ATHE Level 6 Extended Diploma in Management (GenEd), allows learners to progress to a Bachelor’s degree at Northwood University in Michigan in the United States. To meet the criteria, a variety of specific units are required.

This Diploma in Business and Management Level 4 (Accredited by ATHE) qualifications has been designed to be accessible without artificial barriers that restrict access and progression. Learners will be expected to hold the following:
- Learners who have demonstrated some ability and possess Qualifications at Level 3 and
- Age: 16+
OR
- work experience in a business environment and demonstrate ambition with clear career goals;
- Level 4 qualification in another discipline and want to develop their careers in management.
In certain circumstances, learners with considerable experience but No formal qualifications may be considered, subject to interview and being able to demonstrate their ability to cope with the demands of the programme.
